About St Lucia

St. Lucia is one of the world’s leading honeymoon destinations! It is also perfect for families as there  are a wide range of activities one can do while here.

St. Lucia is located in a chain of small Caribbean islands known as the Windward Islands; between Martinique and St. Vincent. It’s approximately 238 square miles with a population of 172,000 inhabitants.

The island of St. Lucia possesses such natural beauty that it is called ‘Helen of the West Indies.’ From the famous twin Pitons in Soufriere, rising majestically from the deep blue Caribbean Sea, to black and white sandy beaches, lush rainforest, rich history, mixed culture, luscious local creole food, friendly people and plenty of exciting things to do in St. Lucia.

It was seven times British, seven times French. Evidences of these can still be seen in the form of abandoned forts and ancient buildings. The war in St. Lucia was last won by the British but the island gained its independence in 1979. It is however, still part of the British Common Wealth. Such great beauty and so many things to do in St. Lucia that the island has been chosen four years in a row as the best honeymoon destination in the world and in December 2013 St. Lucia was chosen as the sexiest Honeymoon destination! Its natural beauty and friendly people leave visitors with no choice but a “must-come-back” attitude to this wonderful island-St. Lucia.

The island’s official language is English but most people speak a French based creole language. French, Spanish and German are spoken among a few natives, especially tour guides of the island. The Currency used in St. Lucia is Eastern Caribbean (EC) Dollars but US is widely accepted all over the island. Euro and Canadian dollars are also acceptable at most business places and tourism operations.

St. Lucia offers many activities one can participate in during their stay; land & Sea tours, sunset cruises, Gros Piton and Petit Piton Hike, rainforest hikes, Zip line, snorkeling, diving, walking tours, bird watching, whale & dolphin watching, sport fishing, kite surfing, Sea food Friday, horseback ride and lots more.
